Set up your website by using the tabs in the order they appear in the admin navigation bar.
The first tab on the top left is called "TEXT PAGES". So, setting up your text pages should be the first thing that you do.
Your text pages, also called "informational pages" are very important. Use them to describe your business, your shipping and handling policies, RMA information, how to contact you and maybe also some general information about the products you are selling.
Keep in mind that "what a website visitor sees and reads is what a website visitor gets". The more information you give about yourself and your business, the better the chances to sell your product.
When clicking on the "TEXT PAGES" tab, you'll see 2 pages already in place.
Front Page: This is the area where you put the majority of your home page text. You are also allowed to upload 2 pictures to the home page to be displayed with your home page text.
Cart Page: This page does not show until you go to the checkout of your shopping cart. Usually you input information like website security, maybe a reminder of some shipping issues and additional charges for shipping. Note: The link to your shopping cart will not be visible until you have at least one category and one product set up in your store!
When in your "TEXT PAGES" area, click on the "add" button to add a new page. Whatever you type into the first line, called "Label / Link:" will be the linkable text to the page. The links to the text pages are lined up to the left of your home page button, in alphabetical order. |
